CHS Swim Update
Good evening CHS Swim Families,
The good news is that as of now we will still have a high school swim season! For the 2020-2021 school year, swimming will be a spring sport.
Here is what we know so far:
Details are still being worked out in the hopes of a region championship. Once those details are set, coaches in our region can begin to make better plans.
The State meet has been officially moved to April. TISCA has 5 days booked with the University of Tennessee. Those dates are April 21-25. If the meet is able to be hosted at full capacity it will take place on Friday the 23rd and Saturday the 24th. If there are numerical restrictions placed on the meet then it will become a 4 day meet. In that format, the first two days would be the girls meet and the next two days would be the boys meet. TISCA will make a determination based upon clearance from the University whether that format would take place April 21-24th OR the 22nd-25th. We will know approximately 45 days in advance. The reason for this is that TISCA has to be granted a waiver for the meet, and we will receive that determination approximately March 1st.
We are fortunate that Coach Colin serves on our region board (MTHSSA), so he is able to be part of that decision making body.
Stay tuned! We will keep you posted when there is more to share.
Go AquaCougies!
